Dollar Tree
How Many Stores Closing: About 75
Current Value of the Business: $20.5 billion–$20.7 billion*
Dollar Tree is closing stores, but it is also expanding at the same time. Reports say the discount chain expects to close about 75 locations in fiscal 2026 while opening hundreds of new stores and continuing to roll out its multi-price format.

The company is trying to modernize without losing the bargain-hunting shoppers who made it famous. After selling Family Dollar, Dollar Tree has been focusing on its own stores, adding higher-priced items, remodeling locations, and investing more than $1 billion into openings, closures, and improvements. For fiscal 2026, the company forecast sales from continuing operations of about $20.5 billion to $20.7 billion.
