Acme Markets has shown up in Albertsons’ 2026 closure wave, with reports naming the banner among several supermarket chains affected by the company’s store-review process. Fast Company reported that closures across Albertsons’ portfolio have included Acme, Balducci’s, Randalls, Safeway, Vons, and Albertsons-branded stores.

The Acme name still has a long history in the Northeast, so even a couple of closures can stand out in local markets. Albertsons does not break out Acme’s sales in its public reporting, but Compworth estimates the banner’s yearly revenue near $1.8 billion, keeping it far from a small neighborhood chain.
