Across the U.K., Morrisons Daily is getting trimmed as part of a wider cost-cutting effort. The Sun reported that Morrisons planned to close 17 smaller Morrisons Daily branches, along with 52 cafés and several in-store services, after a review of underperforming locations and rising operating costs.

This is not the same as Morrisons abandoning convenience stores entirely. The company still has a large supermarket and convenience footprint, but smaller loss-making branches are being cut while the business tries to manage cost pressure, debt, and competition. Morrisons reported full-year revenue of £15.8 billion for 2024/25, though it does not separate Morrisons Daily’s value.
