Winn-Dixie
How Many Stores Closing: 32
Current Value of the Business: $5 billion–$7 billion*
After more than a century as a Southern grocery name, Winn-Dixie is pulling back from several markets. The company announced plans to sell or close 32 Winn-Dixie stores in Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, and Mississippi as the business refocuses on Florida and nearby core markets.

The move is tied to the bigger Aldi-Southeastern Grocers shake-up, but Winn-Dixie is not vanishing. Reports say the company will continue operating around 130 grocery stores and 140 liquor stores across Florida and Georgia, making this more of a regional retreat than a total collapse.
