#33: Priscilla Presley and Elvis Presley (1970)
Priscilla first met Elvis Presley in Germany in 1959 while he was serving in the U.S. Army and she was a teenager living on a military base. Their relationship developed slowly over several years. They married on May 1, 1967, in Las Vegas, and the wedding remained widely photographed and discussed throughout the 1970s.
Fame and Elvis’s demanding lifestyle placed heavy strain on their marriage. The couple welcomed their daughter Lisa Marie, but eventually separated in the early 1970s. Their divorce was finalized in 1973. Priscilla later built a successful business career and helped preserve Elvis’s legacy through Graceland.
