#8: Eric Clapton and Pattie Boyd (1979)
Eric Clapton had been quietly in love with Pattie Boyd for years before they married. Boyd was previously married to George Harrison, Clapton’s friend, and inspired some of his most famous songs, including “Layla.” After her divorce, the pair wed on March 27, 1979, in Tucson, Arizona.

Their relationship carried the intensity of rock legend and muse, but it also faced heavy challenges. Clapton’s struggles with addiction and the pressures of fame strained the marriage. The couple divorced in 1989. Boyd later became a successful photographer, while Clapton continued his extraordinary music career.
