#1: Ray Bolger Uncovered the Original Yellow Brick Road on the Set
When Little House on the Prairie moved from Paramount to MGM Studios, the show began filming on Stage 15, the largest soundstage on the lot. During season five, guest star Ray Bolger — the Scarecrow from The Wizard of Oz — joined the cast for an episode.

While exploring the stage, Bolger noticed part of the floor removed where an old oil heater had once been. Beneath it, he discovered a section of the actual Yellow Brick Road from The Wizard of Oz (1939). The cast, especially the children, were ecstatic as he revealed the legendary piece of film history.
