#10: Wearing Slippers That Don’t Grip the Floor
Soft slippers can feel comfortable, but many are not built for safe walking. Loose backs, slippery soles, and worn-out bottoms can make it easier to slide or trip, especially on tile, wood, or stairs. The risk is higher when someone is walking quickly, carrying something, or getting up at night.

A safer pair should fit securely, stay on the foot, and have a firm non-slip sole. If slippers feel floppy or slide on smooth floors, they are probably better for sitting than walking. Comfort still matters, but it should come with support, stability, and enough grip for everyday movement.
