#32: Starting a Strenuous Workout Too Fast
Exercise is important after 60, but jumping into a hard routine too quickly can backfire. A person may feel motivated to catch up, lose weight, or rebuild strength, then push beyond what the body is ready for. That can lead to soreness, injury, discouragement, or giving up altogether.

It is better to start slowly and build from there. Walking, light weights, stretching, swimming, or beginner classes can all be useful. The goal is steady progress, not proving anything on day one. A doctor or trainer can also help match activity to current ability and health needs.
