#38: Putting Off Home Safety Fixes
It is easy to ignore a loose handrail, dim hallway, wobbly step, or slippery bathroom floor when you have learned to work around it. But small home hazards can become bigger problems after 60. The things people step over every day are often the same things that cause accidents later.

A better approach is to fix the obvious risks before they cause trouble. Tighten railings, add night-lights, secure cords, repair uneven steps, and make bathrooms less slippery. Home safety does not have to make a house feel clinical. It should simply make the space easier and safer to live in.
